Job Description
This position is responsible for processing and evaluating welded and machined components using the Radiographic Inspection method (Film & Non-film) to MB Aerospace East Granby procedures along with customer specifications.

This position sits in East Granby, CT and will report to the NDT Supervisor.

Key Responsibilities
• Process parts, document results and perform equipment standardization in accordance with written instructions approved by the Level 3.
• Conduct system performance checks per approved technique.
• Carry out any necessary preparation of parts before or after inspection.
• Shall be able to follow work instructions written or orally in accordance with the techniques and methods for which certified.
• Conduct tests, interpret and evaluate for acceptance and rejection and document results.
• Be fully aware of the scope and limitations of the technique/method for which they are certified.
• Be capable of providing the necessary guidance to Trainees and Level 1 personnel.
• Be familiar with the codes, standards and contractual documents that control methods used.
• Have a basic knowledge of product manufacturing and inspection technology.
• Be capable of performing visual inspection of parts using inspection equipment (borescopes, magnifiers, etc.)
• Be capable of performing hardness per customer specifications


Job Requirements
• High School Diploma, GED or equivalent is required; An Associates is desirable
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience preferably in a Manufacturing environment
• 1-4 years of experience in the role is required; must be able to meet the requirements of NAS410 and have experience in the NDT function; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Authorized for X-ray Level 1 required.
• Qualified for X-ray and FPI Level 2 preferred
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook and ability to create documents, reports and briefing materials in Microsoft Office Word, Excel and PowerPoint
• Ability to communicate verbally, visually and in writing
• Comfort working in a constantly changing environment; Adaptability & flexibility are critical in this role
• Strong problem-solving skills; Ability to handle multiple tasks with tight deadlines

Job Description
The Quality Inspector is responsible for the final inspection of aerospace jet engine parts. The Inspector must comply with customer requirements and inspection methods.

• Facility maintenance for CNC Precision Aerospace Manufacturer
• Machine maintenance and preventive maintenance for all equipment

• This position is almost 100% physical with some administrative duties
o Walking 90% Standing 10%: In general, standing while doing machine repairs and sitting while doing smaller bench repairs.
o Lifting: 10-15 pounds or less 50% of the time, up to 40 pounds occasionally. Hoist is used to move, position, and lift larger or heavier parts.
o Reaching: Frequent reaching across machines required at shoulder level or overhead.
o Repetitive Motion: generally not an issue; repetitive motion is minimal. Using hand tools, wrenches, screw drivers and power drill.
o Carrying/Lifting: Must be able to carry one-gallon containers of oil and lift over head to dump containers into machines.
o Must carry 5 gallon containers of hydraulic oil and lift waist high to dump into
machines. Must lift 5 gallon pales of coolant and add to machines daily/weekly
o Pushing/Pulling: Must pull motors and hydraulic units out of machines for repair. These can weigh 20 to 75 lbs. Must move/push/pull 55 gallon drums full of spent metal spent chips with a dolly. (50-100lbs)
o Occasionally pushing or pulling pallet jacks to move parts out of the way.
o Welding preventative maintenance requires pulling water cooling units out of welding equipment (full of 6 or 7 gallons of water). These units are 2 feet off the ground.
o Miscellaneous: Must have the ability to work on lifts to reach the ceiling overhead to change lights and run electrical wires (16 feet off the ground).
o Working around electricity requires a steady hand inside electrical cabinets(480volts)
o Must climb ladders frequently and daily. Must work on ladder for machine and facility maintenance.
o Significant bending and reaching around running machinery.
o Precision machine shop with high tolerances. Must have 20/25 vision in at least one eye.
o Sharp metal objects and metal chips from spent material are prevalent and must be handled daily.
o Winter requires occasional snow shoveling.
o Occasional painting with water and oil based paints.
o Other tasks as assigned.

Job Description:

The basic function of the TIG Welder position is to weld & fabricate very thin Stainless Steel, Chromoly, Inconel, Aluminum, and Titanium Engine Components. This individual will use hand-welding equipment to join metal components or seams of fabricated aerospace parts to customer specification. Must have sufficient understanding of the functional operation of the items to make minor modifications if necessary. May perform some trouble-shooting and rework of production items. Must be able to work from complex and detailed blueprints and/or verbal and written instructions with minimal supervision.
This position will also be responsible for EB Weld operations, cross training will be provided for the right candidate. The EB Welder performs Electro Beam Welding in accordance with internal work instructions, applicable specifications and weld schedules.
This position will be in our Warren, MI facility and report to the Operations Weld Supervisor.

Key Responsibilities
• Prepare materials for welding; cuts, grinds and cleans metal.
• Read weld blueprints, engineered drawings, and follow work order requirements.
• Set up the welding machine for specific materials, thicknesses, and positions
• using complicated weld fixtures and weld positioner (turntable)
• Dimensionally inspects welds and other characteristics of parts being welded using tools such as calipers, protractors, and gauges.
• Inspects all parts for proper assembly and cosmetic defects. Tags any non-conforming parts with re-work labels
• Work outside department as required, primarily in belt and hand grinding
• Complete tasks as directed by manufacturing schedules and within standard times
• Follow all safety guidelines and wears all Personal Protective Equipment

Job Description:
The Repair Development Engineer - OVH is responsible for developing and maintaining repair processes for aero engine components. This person will evaluate, quote, and build work orders for parts needing complex repairs. They will monitor all aspects of the process, including milling, turning, fixturing, welding, heat treatment, EDM, non-destructive testing, assembly, deburr, and more. The individual ensures design features are consistent with functional performance and safety requirements for the aircraft engine installation. The Repair Engineer is a hands-on role with heavy involvement in shop floor troubleshooting, and direct communication with major aero OEM customers such as Pratt Whitney, GE, and Rolls Royce. As new repairs are developed, this person will ensure all hardware, fixtures, and equipment are available and aid in the training of repair personnel to perform ongoing work.

This position sits in Warren, MI and will report to the Repair Business Manager.

Key Responsibilities:
• Lead the processing of assigned part families / programs. This includes evaluating and building work orders for each individual part, as each part may have different repairable areas.
• Help establish operation sequences, work instructions, and best practices to ensure efficient and safe repair procedures are developed.
• Provide technical support for procurement, manufacturing, receiving, repair, and certification of repairs.
• Evaluate parts and assemblies for repair feasibility, producibility, cost, tooling, and outside processing.
• Conduct and prepare detailed dimensional analysis of sample parts to support development of new repair.
• Create CAD models and production drawings using ANSI/ASME Y14.5 GD&T standards. Prepare Manufacturing Operation Sheets (MOS's) to clearly communicate process details to operators.
• Develop processes to ensure work is performed per FAA regulations, Customers regulations and Repair Station Manual.
• Coordinates with other departments to develop a unified approach for process improvement of product.
• Interfaces with OEMs, customers, regulatory agencies, and project-related people within the Company.
• Ensures adherence to applicable MB Aerospace internal, federal, state, and local laws and regulations related to compliance and takes responsibility to ensure ongoing conformity with such rules and regulations.

Job Requirements:
• Bachelor's Degree in an Engineering discipline is required
• Preferred - 5 years’ experience in an aerospace or manufacturing environment. Experience with repair and overhaul of aircraft engine components, including complex welded/brazed assemblies.
• Preferred - Advanced understanding of machining approaches (lathe, Mill, EDM, etc.), heat treatment, welding, brazing and thermal spray.
• Experience with Syteline or another ERP/MRP software is a plus.

We are seeking an experienced motivated individual to fill a role as a CNC Machinist. Candidates must be experienced in reading and interpreting customer blueprints, customer specifications, internal operation process sheets, and working with precision measuring tools. Aerospace background strongly preferred. Part size ranges from 30 inches to approx. 70 inches in diameter. Parts are both military and commercial.
This position sits in East Granby, CT and will report to the Machining Supervisor.

Key Responsibilities
• Ability to run 3, 4 and 5 axis milling and/or turning machines
• Must be willing to run multiple machines simultaneously where possible/feasible as most machines are part of manufacturing cells/machining centers
• Ability to work with hard metals such as Inconel, Titanium and Stainless Steel
• Ability to read English and interpret symbols on operation sheets
• Must be proficient in mathematics and be able to use a calculator
• Ability to use Fanuc controls and make offsets as required by the program
