Job Description
Plans and directs activities concerned with development, application, and maintenance of quality standards and activities for industrial processes, materials, and products to assure that customer expectations are met or exceeded while maintaining an acceptable cost level.

This position sits in our Sterling Heights, MI facility and will report to the Quality Manager.

Key Responsibilities
• Develop and maintain systems to provide quality control, quality assurance and process control systems to support internal and external (customer) requirements.
• Train employees, as required, in various quality control, SPC, quality assurance, auditing and the use of required documentation.
• Perform product, process, and system audits and verifies effectiveness or corrective actions that were taken.
• Active as a leader or team member in corrective action and continuous improvement activities.
• Perform closed-looped corrective action and root cause analysis.
• Coordinates and documents employee-training activities. Various program/project management assignments to promote continuous improvement of company systems and products.
• Develop control plans, FMEA’s and other Quality Planning documents.
• Develops and initiates standards and methods for inspection, testing, and evaluation.
• Coordinates failure analysis on discrepant product returned by the Customer and ensures that cause and corrective action is implemented and effective.
• Develops and implements methods and procedures for timely disposition of discrepant material and devises methods to assess cost and responsibility.
• Reviews Manufacturing Operation Sheets, as required, to ensure manufacturing processes, machining methods and sequence changes have no adverse effect on quality or violates contractual requirements.
• Represents quality assurance on new product start-up teams. Identifies any unique customer requirements for workmanship or traceability.
• Ensures compliance with applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations. Completes all required compliance training. Maintains knowledge of and adhere to MB Aerospace’s internal compliance policies and procedures. Takes responsibility to keep up to date with changing regulations and policies

Job Requirements
• Five or more years’ experience in manufacturing, quality, and/or engineering, preferably in an aerospace environment, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Bachelor’s Degree preferred or formal education and training to perform statistical calculations, process capability studies, and data analysis, including knowledge of math, statistics, blueprint reading and an understanding of GD&T.
• Skilled at various computer software applications required for the development and use of programs in support of SPC, program management and other similar activities.
• Possesses interpersonal skills that allow for successful interaction with various employees, including acting in leadership roles on teams and other projects.
• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
• Knowledge or experience with FAA regulatory requirements, ISO9000:2000, AS9100 Quality Systems, ISO17025, NADCAP.
• Experience performing internal and supplier audits.
• Experience in the use of statistical methods for process control, capability analysis and gage R&R studies.

TIG Welder

Job Description
The basic function of the TIG Welder position is to weld & fabricate very thin Stainless Steel, Chromoly, Inconel, Aluminum, and Titanium Engine Components. This individual will use hand-welding equipment to join metal components or seams of fabricated aerospace parts to customer specification. Must have sufficient understanding of the functional operation of the items to make minor modifications if necessary. May perform some trouble-shooting and rework of production items. Must be able to work from complex and detailed blueprints and/or verbal and written instructions with minimal supervision.
This position will also be responsible for EB Weld operations, cross training will be provided for the right candidate. The EB Welder performs Electro Beam Welding in accordance with internal work instructions, applicable specifications and weld schedules.

This position will be in our Warren, MI facility and report to the Operations Weld Supervisor.
Key Responsibilities
• Prepare materials for welding; cuts, grinds and cleans metal.
• Read weld blueprints, engineered drawings, and follow work order requirements.
• Set up the welding machine for specific materials, thicknesses, and positions
• using complicated weld fixtures and weld positioner (turntable)
• Dimensionally inspects welds and other characteristics of parts being welded using tools such as calipers, protractors, and gauges.
• Inspects all parts for proper assembly and cosmetic defects. Tags any non-conforming parts with re-work labels
• Work outside department as required, primarily in belt and hand grinding
• Complete tasks as directed by manufacturing schedules and within standard times
• Follow all safety guidelines and wears all Personal Protective Equipment
• Ensures compliance with applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations. Completes all required compliance training. Maintains knowledge of and adhere to MB Aerospace’s internal compliance policies and procedures. Takes responsibility to keep up to date with changing regulations and policies.

Job Requirements
• High School Diploma or GED Equivalent is required
• 1 year of solid general computer skills required, proficient in the use of Microsoft Excel in particular, being proficient in math skills required
• 1 year of basic welding and metallurgy required
• Read, interpret, and process to work instructions
• Capable of using all standard bench tools and gauges required for setup, inspection, and welding of assemblies including calipers, height gauges, micrometers, and microscopes

Job Description
The Quality Control Supervisor is responsible for coordinating and supervising all day to day activities of the Quality Control department including Inspection, NDT, Gauge Control, and CMM Programming. The Supervisor will report to the Quality Assurance Manager and be responsible for improving Inspection systems, ensuring all Quality Control employees are properly trained, and driving metrics to improve operational performance in the Quality areas to meet customer requirements.

Key Responsibilities
• First point of contact for all Quality Control personnel Coordinate cross functional training of all Quality Control personnel.
• Coordinate AS9102 First Article Inspections with Operations and Quality Engineering personnel to ensure customer requirements are met and impact to delivery is minimal.
• Manage overtime, work schedules and DWI for all Quality Control personnel.
• Lead efforts to integrate Quality Control activities into Manufacturing cells and standardize equipment at all Inspection work stations.

Job Requirements

Job Description
The Materials Manager is functionally responsible for the planning of manufacturing of work orders, with knowledge of component and finished goods, using capacity management, in support of the plant’s production requirements. This position is responsible for processing and evaluating welded and machined components using the Fluorescent Penetrant Inspection method to MB Aerospace East Granby procedures along with customer specifications.

• Process parts, document results and perform equipment standardization in accordance with written instructions approved by the Level 3.
• Conduct system performance checks per approved technique.

Maintenance Technician

Key Responsibilities

• Facility maintenance for CNC Precision Aerospace Manufacturer
• Machine maintenance and preventive maintenance for all equipment
• General machine and facility repairs and maintenance
• Maintain coolant tanks on equipment
• Maintain pneumatic air lines
• Assist with equipment repairs and equipment relocations
• This position is almost 100% physical with some administrative duties
o Walking 90% Standing 10%: In general, standing while doing machine repairs and sitting while doing smaller bench repairs.
o Lifting: 10-15 pounds or less 50% of the time, up to 40 pounds occasionally. Hoist is used to move, position, and lift larger or heavier parts.
o Reaching: Frequent reaching across machines required at shoulder level or overhead.
o Repetitive Motion: generally not an issue; repetitive motion is minimal. Using hand tools, wrenches, screw drivers and power drill.
o Carrying/Lifting: Must be able to carry one-gallon containers of oil and lift over head to dump containers into machines.
o Must carry 5 gallon containers of hydraulic oil and lift waist high to dump into
machines. Must lift 5 gallon pales of coolant and add to machines daily/weekly
o Pushing/Pulling: Must pull motors and hydraulic units out of machines for repair. These can weigh 20 to 75 lbs. Must move/push/pull 55 gallon drums full of spent metal spent chips with a dolly. (50-100lbs)
o Occasionally pushing or pulling pallet jacks to move parts out of the way.
o Welding preventative maintenance requires pulling water cooling units out of welding equipment (full of 6 or 7 gallons of water). These units are 2 feet off the ground.
o Miscellaneous: Must have the ability to work on lifts to reach the ceiling overhead to change lights and run electrical wires (16 feet off the ground).
o Working around electricity requires a steady hand inside electrical cabinets(480volts)
o Must climb ladders frequently and daily. Must work on ladder for machine and facility maintenance.
o Significant bending and reaching around running machinery.
o Precision machine shop with high tolerances. Must have 20/25 vision in at least one eye.
o Sharp metal objects and metal chips from spent material are prevalent and must be handled daily.
o Winter requires occasional snow shoveling.
o Occasional painting with water and oil based paints.
o Other tasks as assigned.

Job Description
Fulfilling a critical role in the Sales and Customer Service organization, the Key Account Manager’s (KAM) overall mission is to serve as the primary point of contact between key external customers and the internal departments of MB Aerospace East Granby. Reporting to the General Manager, the KAM will be responsible for managing customer needs for both commercial and military customer accounts (both OEM and MRO). Key Responsibilities
• Establish and nurture strong relationships with customers within assigned accounts through frequent contact.
• Understand customer requirements, respond to customer inquiries, and serve as the voice of the customer to internal functional groups.
• Communicate progress updates to customers on the status of their parts by gathering the required information from a variety of internal sources.

Key Responsibilities

• Ability to run 3, 4 and 5 axis milling and/or turning machines
• Must be willing to run multiple machines simultaneously where possible/feasible as most machines are part of manufacturing cells/machining centers

• Bachelor’s degree (BS) in Engineering, Manufacturing, or an equivalent combination of education and experience which has provided both theoretical and practical knowledge in the field.
• Demonstrated ability to perform the essential functions of the job typically acquired through six or more years of increasingly responsible experience that included utilizing continuous improvement principles (i.e. lean manufacturing), total quality and problem-solving tools.
• Experience leading and developing a quality organization
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment as well as independently
• Ability to read and interpret processes, procedures, and governmental regulations, write reports, effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, employees and compliance agencies

Job Description
The Human Resources & Admin Assistant is responsible for the day-to-day administrative support of the HR department and the MB Aerospace Sterling Heights office operations. This position is Part Time with a flexible schedule, the hours per week will be between 24-32 hours.

This position sits in Sterling Heights, MI and will report to the HR Manager.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct new hire orientation and onboarding
• Create and maintain employee personnel files
• Coordinate with vendors for employee events and programs
• Plan and organize team building events
• Update organizational charts and contact lists
• Answers and directs departmental phone calls
• Processes required paperwork for employee transfers, changes in job classification, salary increases, and other related employment matters
• May assist with preparation of HR reports such as attendance, new hire, and turn reports
• Process expense reports and assist with travel arrangements for General Manager
• Order and maintain office supplies
• Other duties as assigned
• Ensures adherence to applicable MB Aerospace internal, federal, state and local laws and regulations related to compliance and takes responsibility to ensure ongoing conformity with such rules and regulations.

Job Requirements
• High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required; Associates degree or relevant certification is a plus
• 1-3 years of Human Resources and Office Administration experience required
• Proficient in MS Office and databases
• Ability to work independently and pro-actively follow-up on plans/projects effectively
• Strong prioritization skills along with the ability to multi-task
• Ability to maintain confidential and sensitive information
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate at all levels of the organization
• Hands-on experience with spreadsheets and HR reports
• Accuracy and attention to detail
• Ability to perform filing and record keeping tasks
• Data entry and word processing skills
• Must have a valid US Passport
