Job Description
The Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for processing and creating 3D models of component assemblies used in jet engine parts. The Engineer will use NX CAD and SolidWorks software to create 3D solid models and associated operation sheets. The Engineer will determine the tools and specifications needed in order to achieve manufacturing goals according to customer requirements. The Engineer must be comfortable in a manufacturing setting and interacting with shop personnel when developing processes. This position sits in East Granby, CT and will report to the Director of Engineering.

Key Responsibilities:

• Create 3D models of the assembly and all components in NX and or SolidWorks.
• Create operation sheets / work instructions from 3D model in NX and or SolidWorks.
• Oversee NX standards and configuration.
• Create routing / BOM / item cards in ERP system.
• Create milestones / project plans and make sure engineering tasks stay on track.
• Follow parts through shop to make sure there are no issues.
• Interact with shop personnel when developing processes.
• Assist in establishing part cost estimates on a mix of OEM products and overhaul services.
• Possible tool design.
• Provide support to customers / vendors on any engineering related items.
• Participate in root cause analysis and Continuous Improvement (CI) projects.
• Ensures adherence to applicable MB Aerospace internal, federal, state and local laws and regulations related to compliance and takes responsibility to ensure ongoing conformity with such rules and regulations.


Job Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree in an Engineering, Manufacturing or related discipline required and 5+ years in the aerospace industry or general manufacturing.
• Proficient in the use of NX CAD solid modeling software, working knowledge of Solidworks is desirable.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret blueprints, general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
• Ability to write reports and business correspondence. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients and customers.
• A strong background in manufacturing and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced, dynamic environment is required.
• Experience with Titanium, Stainless Steel and Inconel materials is a plus.
• Familiarity with industry inspection methods such as FPI, MPI, and X-ray.
• General knowledge of welding methods is desirable.
• Prior experience as a machinist is a plus.
• Comfortable with a manufacturing environment interacting with machinist on the shop floor.
• Excellent communication skills are needed; both verbal and written.

Job Description
The DSQR/ Quality Inspector is responsible for the release of product for shipment in accordance with industry and customer requirements, first article inspection and document review, and product auditing as required.
This position sits in East Granby, CT and will report to the Quality Control Supervisor.

Key Responsibilities
• DPRV release of product in accordance with customer requirements including dimensional overchecks, visual inspection, paperwork verification, etc.
• Ensuring all necessary customer approvals are obtained prior to authorizing shipment of product
• Visual and dimensional inspection of aerospace engine components in accordance with customer drawings, specifications, and internal work instructions
• Inspection/ acceptance of hidden characteristics at various stages of the production process

Job Requirements

• Prior experience as a DQR/ DSQR for Pratt & Whitney and/ or GE Aerospace is a plus

Key Responsibilities
• Final Inspection of finished aerospace engine parts and components
• Experience operating CMM using PCDMIS a plus

Job Description
The basic function of the Repair Cell Welder position is to weld & fabricate Stainless Steel, Inconel, Cobalt, and Titanium Engine Components. This individual will use manual Tig welding, Semi-auto Tig welding, and Brazing equipment to join metal components or seams of fabricated aerospace parts to customer specification. Must have sufficient understanding of the functional operation of the items to make minor modifications if necessary. May perform some trouble-shooting and rework of production items. Must be able to work from complex and detailed blueprints and/or verbal and written instructions with minimal supervision.

This position will be in our East Granby, CT facility and report to the Fabrication Supervisor.

Key Responsibilities
• Prepare materials for welding; cuts, grinds and cleans metal.
• Read weld blueprints, engineered drawings, and follow work order requirements.
• Set up the welding machine for specific materials, thicknesses, and positions
• using complicated weld fixtures and weld positioner (turntable)
• Dimensionally inspects welds and other characteristics of parts being welded using tools such as calipers, protractors, and gauges.
• Inspects all parts for proper assembly and cosmetic defects. Tags any non-conforming parts with re-work labels
• Work outside department as required
• Complete tasks as directed by manufacturing schedules and within standard times
• Follow all safety guidelines and wears all Personal Protective Equipment

Job Description
The CNC Programmer’s (Programmer) main task is to Develop, implement and maintain processes and programming for NC/CNC machining operations for complex details and assembly configurations for gas turbine engine components by performing the duties noted below. Must possess the ability to troubleshoot programs on the shop floor and be comfortable in a manufacturing environment.

This position sits in Warren, MI and will report to the Programming Manager.

Key Responsibilities

• CNC Programmer will use CAD/CAM software systems such as NX (Unigraphics), Edgecam, and Vericut to create CNC programs for vertical and horizontal CNC lathes and multi-axis CNC milling machines
• Experience with NX and Solidworks or similar CAD software is necessary
• Duties include developing programs in a timely manner to support production, specifying tooling, resolving shop machining issues, and monitoring active jobs
• Select appropriate cutting tools and associated speeds and feeds to meet both quality and cycle time targets
• Knowledge of Machining G & M Code necessary
• Knowledge of GD&T necessary
• General Understanding of CNC Machine Operation/Setup is recommended

Job Requirements

Job Description
Under minimal supervision, the NDT Technician performs basic nondestructive testing to verify the structural integrity of metallic and/or nonmetallic structures, using radiography and FPI to perform inspections on aircraft parts and evaluate test results by analyzing and interpreting the data in accordance with customer requirements.

This position sits in our Warren, MI facility will report to the Quality Manager.

Key Responsibilities

• Review and implement customer requirements; such as: Engineering Drawings, Process Specifications and other industry standards. Develop and maintain processes, test methodology and procedures. Understand manufacturing methods and part construction, as it relates to the NDT data.
• Operate X-ray equipment and interpret film
• Oversee and process OE & repair/overhaul hardware through FPI line and interpret results
• Perform process control checks and NDT related calibrations as necessary
• Identify and investigate new technologies, processes and/or procedures to maintain or improve NDT capabilities, efficiencies, etc.
• Interface with engineers, internal customers, manufacturing personnel and management to improve processes. Provide guidance, leadership and instruction to other NDT technicians.
• Integrate improvements to realize benefits in cost, cycle, and customer satisfaction.
• Perform other assignments and tasks as directed.
• Ensure adherence to applicable MB Aerospace internal, federal, state and local laws and regulations related to compliance and takes responsibility to ensure ongoing conformity with such rules and regulations

Job Requirements

• Associate Degree of Applied Science in NDT - The classroom training for the applicable test method and level of certification needed must meet the minimum required per NAS-410
• 4 years work experience in the NDT method(s) and manufacturing processes; certified Level 2 is preferred.
• Employee must have the skills and formal training needed to become certified to NAS 410 level 2 in radiography testing (RT) and Penetrant Testing (PT) and be able to pass an annual eye examination per the requirements of NAS 410.
• Must have a thorough knowledge of NDT theory, methods and procedures, and should have knowledge of NDT technologies, computer systems and conventional and automated testing systems.
• Make and keep precise measurements and keep accurate records.
• Must be able to take instructions and offer advice. The ability to work well with supervising engineers, other technicians, and mechanics is essential because technicians interact with people from other divisions, businesses, and customers.
• Experience applying principles of mathematics for analysis, design, and troubleshooting tasks in their work.
• Operating a personal computer with proficiency in related technical and specialized software. Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Powerpoint, Access, Outlook, etc)
• Must comply with ITAR regulations and site SSA requirements.

CNC Programming Intern

The CNC Programmer’s (Programmer) Intern or Co-Op main task is to assist the programming department to Develop, implement and maintain processes and programming for NC/CNC machining operations of complex details and assembly configurations for gas turbine engine components by performing the duties noted below. • Developing programs in a timely manner to support production, specifying tooling, resolving shop machining issues, and monitoring active jobs
• Select appropriate cutting tools and associated speeds and feeds to meet both quality and cycle time targets
• Assist in the compiling of data to support quotations.

We are seeking an experienced motivated individual to fill a role as a CNC Machinist. Candidates must be experienced in reading and interpreting customer blueprints, customer specifications, internal operation process sheets, and working with precision measuring tools. Aerospace background strongly preferred. Part size ranges from 30 inches to approx. 70 inches in diameter. Parts are both military and commercial.

This position sits in Warren, MI and will report to the Shift Supervisor.

Key Responsibilities
• Ability to run Lathe and or Mill Machines
• Must be willing to run multiple machines simultaneously where possible/feasible as most machines are part of manufacturing cells/machining centers
• Ability to work with hard metals such as Inconel, Titanium and Stainless Steel

• Experience working with major aerospace OEMs (Pratt & Whitney, General Electric, Rolls Royce, etc..)
• Ability to stand for long periods of time and walk up a few stairs on machine platforms to access machines
• Team player with the skills to work with people at all levels in a fast paced and demanding environment.
• Ability to work overtime as needed
